Seniors!Seniors! Here we go with an update about one of the most important events, graduation. The last day of school for the class of  21’ is May 28th. Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars on April 24th for prom, for fun outdoor activities.

Unfortunately, we can’t give an exact time and date for the graduation day. However, luckily there will be graduation that will look very similar to the past when everything was normal. Please keep an eye on your CHS student canvas for important updates for seniors. This information and updates will get to students and families as soon as it’s out. This years’ graduation will be in the football stadium and not a drive-thru.

We have interviewed a 2020 Charlottesville High School graduate student Rohid Ahadi who’s in college right now. We have asked him about last year graduating and he responded that “ I didn’t go, I was planning along the year to graduate with my friends and family but COVID broke all the dreams that I was building” He also said “ I understand the school has done a lot and that covid hit at the end of the year, I was surprised that the school came up with small graduation and I really appreciate that. I hope 2021 has better graduation,  where they can gather with many families and friends.”

We have also interviewed a senior at Charlottesville High School, Sahil Rahimzai and we asked him about what he thinks about this year’s graduation, and about last as well. He said, “ Having a graduation with friends and family this year is a big event, and I think school is doing a lot for seniors this year.” He also mentioned that “ many of my friends graduated last year and I still feel bad because they couldn’t have the full experience of graduation. I hope this year is different and I am so excited to graduate.” Another senior we have interviewed is Nicka Mohamed Aman. She said “ graduation is a big part of any student and having graduation during COVID is a blessing. I am so happy that I will have this amazing graduation with friends and family.”

Also, don’t forget to purchase your cap and gown. You can check out the CHS student canvas with the link for how you were able to purchase your cap and gown and any other accessories that you want to go along with it. A quick message from admins: finish the year off strong so that you can graduate.
