Election season is here! As we approach the end of Trump’s first term, we find ourselves in a tough spot. Nothing in 2020 has been normal, and we are currently living through what will eventually be a chapter in a history textbook, which makes this year’s election so important!

This year’s election is between Republican President Donald Trump, and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, who was Barack Obama’s Vice President. This article will provide you with unbiased information on strictly their political policies.

When breaking down a candidate’s beliefs, there are many key issues you must examine. However, the issues differ depending on the candidate’s party. For Trump, who is a Republican, we will examine the following issues: jobs and money, trade, foreign policy, immigration, health, climate change, criminal justice, and gun control. For Biden, who is a Democrat, we will examine the following issues: the Coronavirus, jobs and money, racial justice, climate change, health, foreign policy, immigration, and education.

Trump’s views on these principles are as follows.

    • Jobs and Money: Trump’s main focus is to repair the Covid-battered economy.
    • Trade: Trump wants to end the reliance on China and to bring more manufacturing to America.
    • Foreign Policy: Trump believes in America first, and wants to reestablish American sovereignty. He has a very isolationist approach to the global stage.
    • Immigration: Trump still wishes to build a wall on the southern border and curb the rates at which people immigrate to the U.S.
  • Health: Trump wants to lower drug costs and repeal the Affordable Care Act
  • Climate Change: Trump doesn’t acknowledge climate change as an issue, and wants to continue to promote U.S. energy.
  • Criminal Justice: Trump is a vocal and active supporter of law enforcement, and has recommended a database to track police behavior/misbehavior.
  • Gun Control: Trump is an avid defender of the 2nd amendment.

Biden’s views on these principles are as follows.

  • Coronavirus: Biden wants to create a national test and trace program to help stop the spread.
  • Jobs and Money: Biden wants to raise the minimum wage and invest in Green Energy.
  • Racial Justice: Biden is pushing for criminal justice reform and grants for minority communities.
  • Climate Change: Biden wants to rejoin the Global Climate Accord and work to end climate change.
  • Health: Biden wants to strengthen and spread the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
  • Foreign Policy: Biden wants to remake America’s reputation and potentially challenge China. He has a very multilateral and engaged approach to the global stage.
  • Immigration: He plans to undo Trump’s immigration policies.
  • Education: Biden wants to create a universal preschool program and expand free college education.
