Everyone knows that feeling when you’ve realized you have no idea what to get someone for the winter holidays. I know I’ve definitely gone through that situation myself. December is here, and thankfully, I thought ahead this year, and I’ve made a little guidebook of sorts of where to get affordable gifts this holiday season.
General Gifts
Stores like TJMaxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods are all really great places to get good gifts for specific friends. Their wide variety of goods and lower-than-retail prices make for good gifts for friends. Some things you could find at one of these stores include bath products and cosmetics, candles, jewelry, stationery, room decor, or pajamas, and some fuzzy socks. Friends and family of Hello Kitty fans will always find a gift there as well.
Bath & Beauty Products
Maybe you could get your friends something to have a nice spa day, especially if they need one. Places like Bath and Body Works would be a good place to shop in conjunction with places like TJ Maxx to culminate a few bath or beauty products, which would make for a relaxing gift. These could include scented body soaps, candles, bath scrubs, salts and bombs, or lotions.
Cute Trinkets
Things like keychains and stickers are good ideas for small gifts that don’t cost too much. Stores like 5 Below are good places where you can get things like keychains, stationeries, and figures, and small toys of different characters from popular shows, which are fun things to gift people.
Local thrift and consignment stores
Know your friend especially well? Check out one of the local thrift or consignment stores in town like Uptown Cheapskate or Twice is Nice, and pick out a piece or two you think would suit them. You could also stop by places like Old Navy and catch sales on things like fluffy socks that everybody could enjoy.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are always a good fallback option if you don’t have time to shop or you’re just conflicted over what to get. Places like Target and Amazon are always safe choices, and places like Starbucks, TJ Maxx, and Sephora are other good options if you know they shop there frequently.
