Romantic comedies are one of the most popular movie genres, especially around Valentine’s day. Some of the saddest and happiest movies fit into this category. Romantic comedies usually include love and romance, a meet-cute, and a happy ending. Watching a rom-com is a fun idea to do with friends, family, or a significant other on Valentine’s Day. The staff of KTR has come up with a list of three of the best romantic comedies for you to watch this Valentine’s Day!

Taking the lead is “Love Simon,” which some would describe as “a modern high school love story.” Shining light on the LGBTQ community, we get to see the main character Simon navigate his high school years while trying to come out to his friends and family. The plot follows Simon as he tries to uncover the identity of his anonymous online fling. This lovely movie has earned itself a 92% on rotten tomatoes, and is number one in 6 hearts.

 

  1. Another go-to valentines movie is literally called “Valentines Day”. 

This movie features many A-list celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, and many more. The movie follows a number of people and how they each chose to spend Valentine’s Day. Some are celebrating with their family, some start new relationships, and others become comfortable with being alone. This movie is funny, cute, and a feel-good that you should definitely watch. 

  1. How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days

This is an American classic. “Matthew McConaughey is hot and Kate Hudson is a girl boss, what more do I need to say.” The fashion, the plot, and the love story are all iconic. A laugh-out-loud must-watch movie that will leave you wanting love and a fabulous career. This movie follows a young reporter who is looking for a story and a cocky businessman who believes he can make any girl fall in love with him. Their contrasting goals for the relationship create cringy yet hilarious situations, leaving watchers with hope for true love.
