The Late Knight News: With CHS by CHS

Charlottesville High School is now offering a way to spread ideas, create with others, and be on TV; with a new broadcasting program called The Late Knight News. A similar show was originally made during quarantine by students in the Knight Time Review class, to create a multimedia platform and engage with students online. Now that we are back in person creators and students involved have turned it into a club that any student with an idea or voice can be a part of. This news program gives opportunities to work with other students at CHS to create a show that will represent CHS and its students.

Although all students are welcome and have a voice, leadership roles are assigned to students that have been involved and know how to run this show. Kyri Antholis, senior at CHS and director of the Late Knight News says that “This show is supposed to be representative of the student body, and provide information that benefits everyone.” This is a platform that is student-run and is made to be engaging, bringing light to the interests of the people here at CHS. Kyri adds that to get involved, students should show up to meetings with ideas that they either want to see or be a part of. Mr. Josselyn and Mr. Becker, teachers here at CHS, are managing the process and allowing for students to take the lead, “My goal in my KTR class and Late Knight News is to be a support and provide resources,” says Mr. Josselyn. Mr. Becker has allowed a space for this program to be shot, with high-quality lights, cameras, and resources to create in a studio setting.

Since this is a new club many people haven’t heard about it. Santino Greene, a junior, said that he would like to see positive attention to the football team and have representatives to share the hard work they are doing. He and many other students do have something to share or change and this club is allowing that!

There has been a News station run by students before but was shut down due to the lack of organization and for causing issues to the school. We can learn from the past and be a better station that spreads true information to and for the school.
