Kathryn McKee (Math Teacher)

Q: How has your experience been at C.H.S. so far? 

A: It’s been good so far, I like the teachers, administrators and the students.

Q: Where are you originally from?

A: Fortworth, Texas.

Q: How long have you been a teacher?

A: Since 1998.

Q: Why did you come to C.H.S.?

A: I decided to move to Charlottesville, and I’m a math teacher, so Charlottesville High School was my first choice of a place to work.

Q: Why did you choose Charlottesville? 

A: One of my oldest friends lives here with her husband, and I just like the town so I moved here.

Q: What’s the best part about working at C.H.S.?

A: I get to do what I know how to do, in a place I like a lot.

Q: What’s your favorite restaurant in Charlottesville?

A: Shabean

Q: Are you involved with any clubs or sports teams?

A: Not yet.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: I play with my dog, I like to read, and I enjoy going to hear live music.

Q: What’s your favorite sports team? 

A: The LSU Tigers Football

Q: What would you like CHS to know about you?

A: I love math, I love being in Charlottesville, and I’m happy I moved here.

 

Anne Downing (Special Education)

Q: How has your experience been C.H.S.. at so far? 

A: Great, the teachers are welcoming, and the students are really interesting.

Q: Where are you originally from? 

A: Williamsburg, VA

Q: What did your do prior to CHS? 

A: I just graduated from James Madison University.

Q: How long have you been a teacher? 

A: About 2 weeks

Q: What is the best part about working at CHS? 

A: The resources the school offers, and how there are always people to reach out to at the school.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Charlottesville? 

A: Sticks Kebob

Q: Are you involved with any clubs or sports teams? 

A: No

Q: What do you do in your free time? 

A: I hike, and I spend  time with my family.

Q: What’s your favorite sports team? 

A: The Buffalo Bills. My family is from Buffalo.

 

Timothy Tryon (Special Education)

Q: How has your experience been at CHS so far? 

A: Fantastic, I enjoy meeting students and teachers.

Q: Where are you originally from?

A: Northern Virginia, Prince William county. I was born in Woodbridge, VA.

Q: How long have you been a teacher?

A: This is my 11th Year as a teacher

Q: Why did you come to CHS?

A: It’s a very historical school, and I also came for the diverse student population.

Q: What is the best part about working at CHS?

A: I think the best part is the kids.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Charlottesville? 

A: To be determined.

Q: Are you involved with any clubs or sports teams?

A: I coach for SOCA.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: Coaching soccer and spending time with my family. I have a daughter who is 2 and a half years old, plus a dog and a cat. I also like hiking.

Q: What’s your favorite sports team?

A: Manchester United

A: I am really excited to become a part of this community.
