Campbell Brickhouse: Future

Senior soccer-star Campbell Brickhouse originally disliked soccer and was forced to play by his parents at the age of five. Who knew? But five more years into the sport, and he was asked to play on U-10 Jamboree, an all-star team of children who are slated to become players on the elite team as soon as they’re old enough and S.O.C.A.’s future elite team. After 13 years of playing soccer and loving everything about it, he now finds himself committed to continuing his athletic career at William & Mary. For Brickhouse it all began at the 2017 U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1 championship this past summer. His stellar performance with five goals and five assists caught the attention of the William & Mary soccer coach. The coach expressed heavy interest in Brickhouse and informed him about an I.D. camp. In these camps, players are given a glance at what playing soccer at the college level is like as well as a chance to be seen and observed by coaches. There, the assistant coaches kept a close eye on Brickhouse and his ability. After this, the coach called again but this time with an offer to play at W&M. A week later, Brickhouse committed to the school. He was filled with happiness saying it was the “best feeling in the world” to find a spot with his top choice; for Brickhouse, W&M is the ideal combination of in-state tuition and rigorous academics. Brickhouse’s advice for those pursuing college sports: “Keep practicing your sport everyday and reach out to as many coaches as you can. Make highlight videos, go to camps, and strive for the best.”
